'To Everything its Season' by Gillian Rattray

'Mala Mala, The Story of a Game Reserve' is also part of the title of this book.

I quote
"To everything its season, is a delightful record of an extended sojourn in this bushveld paradise. In this book, Gillian Rattray applies her skills as observer and artist to the wonders of this terrain. Her text explores the passage of the season in the bushveld, its sights and sounds, as well as the fascinating history of Mala Mala and its people. "

There are pictures of Stevenson Hamilton and Harry Kirkman visiting the area. Gina Lollabrigida, Gary Player and Sir Laurens van der Post also feature in the pictures. I must say, that some of the collection of old black and white pictures of Kirkman et al, I have never seen before.

I give it 8 out of 10. (2 points were taken off because I cannot afford to go and check the place out) :wall:

Rooies, I agree. The illustrations are superb. It gives a wonderful sense of history of the area as well as the richness of the natural fauna and flora.

This sounds like another wonderful book to read. What a pity Christmas is over as it would make a perfect gift  :)
