How and Where to Photograph Birds in Southern Africa

Unread post by Yoda » Thu Jan 08, 2015 6:27 pm

I found a fantastic new book in SA recently

Insiders Guide - How and Where to Photograph Birds in Southern Africa - Isak Pretorius
ISBN: 1431409308

Can be bought at bookshops, and the author has a fantastic website with full details of the books.

This book is full of fantastic info on how to take photos of birds under different condittions, with lots of advice on camera settings, and plenty of tips and suggestions.

Yoda, thank you for the info on this book.

I managed to get a copy for myself and definitely worth the investment if you are photographing birds.

Agree, lots of advice and technical info. I particular liked the thoughts on the bird poses - which should be ideal and which not i.e. wings up, down side ways, the head position etc. :D

There are other Insider Guides as well written by Shem Compion i.e. TO Wildlife Photography Spots in South Africa and Top Wildlife Photography Spots in Botswana and Namibia.

Seems Isak Pretorius and Shem Compion works together.

Great find! Yoda
