The photos on this thread make me soooo 'homesick'

Lovely photo of ellie and bungalow at Sirheni Mizzbee. I can just smell that wood smoke from the fire. Dave and I sp I belieent some of our honeymoon at Sirheni and that photo brings back many special memories. :gflower:

MM, So excited about our pending trip to Nossob and a lion hunt. Have never been there and always wanted to. Looking forward to a handsome black maned maned lion.

Phillip has definitely got something up his sleeve.

Bert thinking of you as you land in JHB. Have a wonderful trip.

MM can we stop somewhere for some padkos and maybe a bit of amarula coffee on the way to Nossob? That would be so enjoyable - not for the driver though. :naughty: :D

Tessa, you do seem to have developed a taste for Amarula    We will have to put a lock and a key on the bottle.

This might not help. :hmz:

Carol, GM, lets go a hunting.

We will have to wait a while for the Nossob mom and cub. I looked and they seem to have gone AWOL lately.

I heard of other moms and cubs close to Croc Bridge.

One day, when I learn patience, I am going to read the instructions on my camera. Unfortunately, this excellent sighting had MM very frustrated as she shot away with all the wrong settings.

I found it quite poignant as the family seemed to embrace the buffalo..an act of the deepest love.

 Carol, Its this feeling of patriotism that I have that makes me feel that we need to partake, every now and then.

What a wonderful siting of the kill MM. Cant wait to find mum and cub.

Keeping my eyes peeled for beautiful sightings

Tessa, calls it patriotism.

Trrp, I agree, I I do not want to watch a kill. Sometimes I hear a kill in the night and I find it deeply distressing.

GM, lets go.

This was a small pride of just ladies. More of the loving embrace. Mom keeps a careful watch.

Since the last invite to Nossob,I have had my eyes on all the webcams, looking for those elusive Nossob lions. I am envious of our mites who live ‘east’ of us, who can spend their daytime hours looking at our nocturnal animals.

Tessa, I had a stroke of luck and was given four nights at Sirheni. I would do it again in a shot.

Join my club MM. The important thing to remember is that none of us on this particular topic professes to be professional photographers. I trashed about 68 photos of this lion I found 3km outside Sirheni in the early morning. I sat with him for about 30 minutes without another car in sight.

He's a beautiful boy!! :gflower:

I have never seen a kill happen and think I would rather not. It is all part of the cycle of life I know and it is a harsh world out in the bush, but MM I think I feel that same as you. I have watched lions at a kill south of Satara and cheetah just near the Timbavati Picnic Site, but this was after it happened.

Mizzbee, that is a really good looking fellow. 8) I also love that loop, though I still need to be a bit patriotic there.

Patriotism runs high in this group. 8) Lets refill the glasses and our soul.... this is becoming a spiritual experience.

The little Nossob cub has been a bit shy, so we are going to linger longer.

Tessa, I think we are a pretty soft hearted bunch. Just as well we no longer have to go out and shoot our dinner.

More of the ladies coming up.

I call this ''the grin of death''. In all religions and spiritual tradition, there is the belief that we are ''all one''.

We lost that awe and respect, to our own detriment. We started to believe that we were more, we were better.

No, we are all one, all equal in the cycle of life, death and rebirth.
