Hi Crested Chick - welcome to the forum! Hope your mum has warned you that this forum becomes an addiction - very rapidly :)

I registered as a new forum member today. I have been lurking on this forum for some time without posting.

I think it is good manners to introduce oneself? I have retired from a busy professional practice and plan to do as much local travel as possible. In the last 3 months we have visited the following parks. Namaqualand, West Coast and also Kruger and have invested in a Green Card. We are frequent visitors to all our South African Parks and our neighboring country's conservation areas.

I have a fully kitted out 4x4, but do not always camp especially where there is self catering acommodation available. I have a budding interest in wildlife and bird photography and in birding and hope to learn from this forum.

I also plan to spend more time in our underrated local parks in the Eastern Cape.

Friendly greetings to all.

I've lurked on this forum for a while but now I've talked hubby into another South Africa trip I thought I would join and introduce myself.

Was born in South Africa but have lived in the UK for a long time now (17 years now  ). We're planning a trip early 2015 (am I crazy to be planning this far ahead?), probably Kruger for a week and then a second week somewhere else. I've only been to Kruger once before which was one of the best times of my life, so I can't wait to introduce the kids to the Kruger (big son came last time but he was only 2).

A warm welcome to the forum SammyA! We are all here a bit crazy when it comes to planning a trip in advance. But that is where the fun starts. Have a great time on the forum.
