We have a herd of cats - Image

We have two cats. Tigger (male) is 3 years old and Tinkerbel (female), she is six months old. I love my cats to bits! They are like children in the house and even share our bed with us. Our lifes would be so empty without them.

What is so wonderful is their totally different personalities - it is absolutely amazing! Tigger is not a very social cat. He will be around us and with us but disappears when there are strangers in the house. Tinkerbel demands love all of the time - even from strangers!

We have 2 beautiful Siberian Huskies who are 95% human and 5% dog !! We also have an amazing cat called Buttons.
Scout is the male and has pale blue eyes and looks like he had a starring role in Little Red Riding Hood. Moby is the female with orange eyes and a coat which looks like it was dusted with silver glitter. We 'adopted' them about 4 years ago after they had been passed through 3 homes already. MM this is for you...... I spent the first 3 months too terrified to open the gate in case they took off..... and they did - NINE times !!!! :naughty: :naughty: After that they settled in and now roam the garden (and the house if they get half the chance!)
Buttons belonged to my brother who moved to Simonstown and was going to follow his owner after a couple of months...... 6 years later and Buttons has never made the journey South!

Charming, I love your Huskies  They are particularly beautiful.
Huskies are such unique creatures, that its difficult to understand unless you have had one under your roof.

I would just like to share my delinquent with you all.

He was the product of a sad story. He was brought to me by my gardener at the time. He had just been expelled from a townhouse complex for bad behaviour.

His ownwer had undergone radical brain surgery that had left her with no short term memory. Although she was a thoughful and kind person, she just could not remember having a dog. As a result Chino had been horribly neglected. He had not been house trained, he had been fed at erratic intervals, possibly often been without the most basic of care and sustenance.

He was already about 2 years old and unneutered. He would cock his leg against anything  Even after I took him for a redesigning visit to the vet, he still felt the need to lift his leg everytime he saw a plastic packet, a chair leg, a corner of furniture  Worst still, he is an animal olympian jumper.

Chino had no compulsion about jumping up onto kitchen shelves to cock his leg against breadboards, microwaves, unpacked packets of food..... and so the list goes on.

Chino also has a fettish for plastic, the newer the better. He seems to love the feeling of crunching.

I am afraid to work out how much Chino has cost us:
It includes: daughter's spare car key and immobiliser
2 brand new cell phones
3 remote controls
carpets
breadboards
lots and lots of unpacked food
couch

and so the list goes on...

thing is, he is such a character that we just have to forgive him and go on with trying to tame this crazy, lovable creature. I take my dogs on a regular basis to the local park. Chino is known by everyone, as he has a need to try to dominate every Alsation, Rotweiler, Husky, Doberman, Labrador, Border Collie... any thing bigger than him. I have seen him try to chase down a pack of 5 Alsations with no sign of fear... he is a big dog in a small body.

He is a friendly little dog with people and has a particular love for children, but I have no doubt that he would protect us to the death.

The bird doesn't sing because it has answers, it sings because it has a song.

Don't have a nice photo, but here's a relatively recent one of the reason why we don't really have a garden to speak of...
