If you Guys woul dallow me to hijack the conversation a little! :o

I have a Nikon D90. Lovely Camera and I really enjoy it. I am still not using it to it's full potential. I have a 70-300mm 4.5-5.6 G ED lens on it which I use for Birding. Any suggestions on what Lense Ishould be looking at to upgrade? I need a little more on the range side for the Birding, and I find that the Autofocus is a little slow in following birds in Flight on this setup... Is a 300 prime "worth it" in terms of overall distance vs quality aspect?

Would love to here what you guys think! Thanks
