On the road we saw a kori bustard

a common scimitar bill

and a ground squirrel

At 14th borehole we saw some small critters

and on our return to Urikaruus there was a western cattle egret at the waterhole

and one oft he resident crows paid a visit

At 6 pm we left for another short drive to 13th borehole. The cattle egret was next to unit 4 now

During the night the trapcam caught Charlie several times. Most of the pics only show half of the fox as she was moving fast. But as we did not get a single shot of her, here is one pic to show you that she is still around

While I was brushing my teeth, my SO appeared and told me that I have to take a look. In his hand he had our rhinose which was deformed at the tip. I asked him why he took it off the car and he said, he did not. Appearently, the hyenas returned during the night and tore it off. I cannot believe that we slept right above it and did not hear anything

We had planned to go to 14th borehole again on our morning drive but we met the lady from the lion project who told us about a dying willie at Dalkeith and a dead one 20 kms before Mata Mata. Thus, we moved up further North.

At Dalkeith we saw lots of springboks

The willie at Dalkeith was still alive and we moved on to the one that was already dead. The jackals were having a ball
