That day we saw two Baboon troops in H7. This posting will be all around baboons and their varied perspectives on the world…

One of the troops was mixed with Impalas. We often saw this intermingling in KNP.

Image

My wife took this picture of the gorgeous genitals of a female Baboon. How not to fall in love with her?!

Image

As usual, the Baboons were calmly strolling around the cars in the road. I guess this is stimulated by bad-behaving visitors who throw food for them. We saw this happening, something for the hall of shame, to be shown later in the TR (for chronological reasons).

Image

Image

This guy was sitting relaxed in the road, exposing his genitals to the passing people… :o)

Image

Another one was looking meditatively up, pondering about their baboon condition in the world, performing the purest form of baboon metaphysics…

Image

But metaphysics can always be mixed with some hip-hop moves

Image

Kids were as usual playing. It is a renewed funny experience to watch the young baboons playing easily or hardly.

Image

Some were eating on the side of the road, in a relaxed mood.

Image

Image

Image

Image

One of the troops was, in its turn, on the trees.

Image

Part of them watched us curiously when we arrived.

Image

This guy looked a nice baboon being, eating some berries.

Image

Image

Image

Something going on in the ground?

Image

Nothing like friends eating back to back.

Image

Another round of metaphysical baboon thinking.

Image

Image

Image

When they are not trying to solve the mysteries of their existence, some rough playing in the tree branches is always in the list.

Dear Pumbaa and Super Mongoose
and to put up a Baboon show from the pictures is quite fun!
As I tell my friends, to travel to the parks in South Africa is very economic for me. All in all, it costs something like USD 6,000 from Brazil, but it is four years of fun! Some months planning, which I think it is so fun, 2 weeks there, and three years working on the photos and TR, which is great fun too!!! That's a deal!

Cheers

Never, Hilda! I am really eager to get there... and, at the same time, preparing myself to stay three weeks away from my wife and little daughter (1 year old...)

Cheers

I do love baboons    the best entertainment in the Park, unless they are tucking into your breakfast.
