I saw the same plant in KNP also in mid-November and it was IDed for me (elsewhere) as the Sand Lily Crinum buphanoides :)

A few flowers that I need help with. The first two are in my garden in Darling and I'm not sure whether they are wildflowers or something else.

The third was seen along Darling Hills Road. All seen in December 2014.

Hi Arks,

Number 1 looks to be an Alstromeria = Inca lily. Not indigenous to SA but a common garden plant here.

Number 2 is Bulbine frutescens = snake flower/cat's tail. It is indigenous to SA, and quite 'water wise'.

Number 3 is one of the Cotulas. A genus within the daisy family (Asteraceae). For those of us not specialised in the Asteraceae, very difficult to identify to species!

With you pointing me in the right direction, I looked in my fynbos book and it would seem most likely to be Cotula bipinnata ? :hmz:

Yet another Cape plant that I need help with. This one seen along the M3 (stop & go traffic allows for plant pix :D ) in November 2015.

Here are some more Cape plants that I need ID help with -- all seen along the Kommetjie boardwalk (which is part of TMNP) in late November 2015.

1. I'd thought that this was some kind of daisy, but I can't find it in my fynbos book ...
Image

2. Is this perhaps Silver pea (Xiphotheca fruticosa)?
Image

3. no idea

4. Some kind of gousblom I think, but is it an Arctotis or an Arctotheca ?
