For all those who not yet experienced a Lower Sabie Bush Braai, it is an unforgettable experience and worth every cent you pay. It is a memory that will last a lifetime

We are two New Zealanders looking for people to join us at Satara or Lower Sabie for a bush Braii on any of the nights we are staying at those camps. I have read a lot of great reviews about them and would love to go on one. Just need the numbers. :)

Warm welcome to the forum Kiwi lass!

Just and idea, if you have a look at When will I see Yellow Ribbons in Kruger you can see who will be in the same camps as you and may be able to contact them and see if they are wanting to do a bush braai as well.

Yellow ribbons are what we tie onto our drivers side mirrors when in the parks so we can recognise each other and meet up.

Hi Avocadeau,

That sounds fantastic :D :D :D . 6 people is their minimum so we could book it. I should imagine that they will be able to cater to vegetarians fine but will pay to make sure. My understanding is that it is R590 for the bush braai which is a sunset drive and dinner combined. Not sure if it is cheaper for children.

I have previously contacted edward.ndhlovu@sanparks.org at Satara who is their head guide about a bush braai. He said the following on August 24th,

"Dear Michelle

Thank you for showing interest in our activities, ... We regret that we have not received any request from other guests on the said dates however, we would like to assure you that we will reserve a space as soon as other guests make a request."

If you are happy to e-mail Edward with your booking for the bush braai and I will do the same it will be all on. He will need your reservation number. Just let me know if you do want to go ahead with it. It would be so much fun.

Thanks for the advice Elsa.
How do I get my name on the yellow ribbon list please?
I have been lurking in these forums for nearly a year now. I will tie a yellow ribbon to my wing mirror now I am an official forumite.

Lower Sabie do indeed do bush braai's.

In the meantime keep an eye on When will I see Yellow Ribbons in Kruger
If there are people booked at the same camp and time as you, you could contact them and they might be interested in joining in.
None at the moment but possibly nearer the time?
But also remember there might be others who will book at the camp before then so don't give up.

We will be in Lower Sabie 3-5/9/16 and in Satara on 6/9/16 there will be 5 of us. We leave for Sweni trail on 9/7. What are the Braai's like I think there would be some interest with the group.

I have just had a reply from Edward at Satara who has let me know that we need a minimum of 6 people to do the braai. If there were others who would be in Satara at this time that would be great.
We will be at Lower Sabie on 4th September but I am not sure if they have bush braais or not?
We are really like forward to our first visit to Kruger and South Africa

Hi Heather,
Don't know if this is your very first post, but if so, welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll like it here as it is full of good advice and people 'wild about nature'.

Seems you've chosen some very interesting camps/locations for your very first visit to Kruger. It will be an experience you'll never forget.

But now an answer to your question. I'll be arriving lateish on Sep 5 in Satara, tired from flying etc, looking for a good night's rest. The next day (Sep 6) however, I'll be busy 'hunting' with the camera and had thought about an evening game drive. Being on my own, not considered a braai.
I had a look on Satara's website regarding their bush braai and if you are still looking for additional people, I'm happy to join your crew. I'm a grumpy old man (normally), but happy and exited in the Kruger. This will be my fifth trip.
If you are interested, PM me and we can work out details of what kind of bush braai you're interested in etc.
Whatever you decide, have a great time in Kruger. It will be life changing.

Mike

Sorry, I have seen your post. Yes it is my first post and yes we are still looking for the elusive extra people. Satara on 6th looks good - now we need to find 3 more. Counting down the days to our adventure begins.
Heather

Hi Heather, looking forward to it and hope we get the other people as well. I've pencilled it in.
See you at Satara. (An excellent cat area btw!)
We'll arrange meeting up at a later date, if that's oke with you.

Regards
Mike

A very warm welcome to the forum, OzzieHoneyBadger.

I too hope you will find your additional 'guests' for a braai.
You can look here to see who is where and when in Kruger. You can always contact them to find out if they would consider joining.

However it goes, enjoy your stay and braai.

Regards
Mike
