Definitely a very special sighting Rodger and those are the ones that stay with us as highlights!
Also love that back road out of camp, we once wanted to go on a late afternoon drive but got as far as the gate and had to 2 lovely tuskers feeding on the trees right there preventing any further access.
So we sat just inside the gate and watched them till they eventually moved off. 8)

Hi Stickman360, we arrived at Punda Maria at 14:00 this afternoon, and were driving from Letaba. Parts of the river has water in it, which attracts big herds of Buffalo, Elephants, and several kinds of antelope. Very dry, although there are lots of trees with leaves on it in several parts along the road. There are also a few waterholes along the road with lots of animals quenching their thirst. Quite hot today, 34°C.

Buffalo Road Block.jpg

We almost didn't make it back to Shingwedzi in time due to this buffalo road block.

So good to see the rain. Just hoping there is enough of it before my birding trip to Punda in 2 weeks time. if you have any news on the birding situation, please let me know?
