A short video of Kruger in the early '60s

Unread post by winnydpu » Sat Jan 30, 2016 10:19 pm

Finally found some old Kruger footage on youtube after some searching. I loved the vintage pictures thread we had on the forum a few years ago, does anyone have links to more video like this?

What a magnificent find!! Wonderful to see that when it comes to what REALLY matters (the protected wilderness), little has changed.

What a treasure - thanks for sharing. The animals haven't changed, but the vehicles and the visitors' clothes have!!

Lovely to watch. Brought back lovely memories.

The two cars where they came across the lions are a Ford Consul (or it might be a Ford Zephyr) in front and a Borgwardt behind it.

Hugh,

We transferred all our 8 mm films to video. Very easy if you still have suitable a projector.

You project the films onto a white screen/wall and film it with your video camera. Keep the projected picture as small as possible to get a sharper picture.

We also scanned all the family photos into the computer. So now every member of the family have a copy of the films as well as the photos.

A short video about fencing the Kruger circa 1962:

Two parts of a Coca-Cola produced documentary from 1958. Nice shots of Oliphants.
