Wild card

Unread post by Kamleshrut » Sat Aug 20, 2016 8:36 am

Hi!

We (2 couples) will be visiting this September Kruger, Addo & Garden route (Tsitsikamma as well as Knysna) National Parks and will be staying there.

I have already paid conservation fees on line while booking the accommodation at Kruger; but not paid for other parks.

Now I think, it would have been cheaper, had I purchased a wild card.

Is there a possibility of converting the already paid conservation fees and adding something to get a wild card, when we enter Kruger?

I had called Sanpark office twice, but I was not able to explain it properly, probably.

Thanks a lot.

Warm welcome to the forum Kamlesrut!

You don't say for how long you will be visiting the various parks but generally if its longer/more than 6 days then buying a wild card is the way to go.

I am really not sure whether you can convert your already paid conservation fees for other activities but we can try and find out for you.

In February I decided to pay conservation fees, then changed my mind as I thought it would be better to buy a Wild Card. I asked whether I could convert the conservation fees into a Wild Card, but I was told that I couldn't.

Maybe the person I asked was mistaken, so it would be worthwhile to try and see if you can convert, but you might find that you can't.

I wish you best of luck with this, and also a wonderful trip.

Thanks Elsa.

We will be staying for 4 nights at Kruger and 1 nights each at Addo, Storms river mouth rest camp and Knysna camp. (Total 7 nights 2 couples).

We shall enter @11.30 am & reach Kruger on day 1 @2pm.
On day 5, we intend to check out lower Sabie @ 10 am and after driving around crocodile bridge leave KNP@ approximately 5pm. Do we have to pay for 5 days @ Kruger? Or 4 days only?

Thanks a lot for your efforts to help.

Conservation fees will be for the 4 nights you stay in the park.
