Butterfly: Spotted Joker

Spotted Joker, Byblia ilithyia, is a wide-spread butterfly found from Port Elizabeth in the north eastern half of South Africa. Numbers peak during summer. This one was photographed at the Sable Dam hide in KNP.

725 Latest lifers: Common whitethroat, Swamp boubou, Hartlaub's babbler, Chirping cisticola, Coppery-tailed coucal, Red-billed spurfowl, White-browed coucal, Scharlow's turaco, Copper sunbird, Long-toed lapwing.

A few of the Butterflies we saw on our recent trip in Kruger.
none of which I can identify with confidence from my limited field guide. :?

The first two are of a male spotted joker / tolliegrasvegter / Byblia illithya.
