I am glad the elephant encounter ended without physical damage although I am sure your emotional state was a different story.
Baby animals and cats, not a bad day!

Thanks so much, Carla + Tony,

exactly how I feel when ellies are coming closer and closer with no way out

Great shots from the Olifants although the river looked indeed extreme dry :x

Love the ostrich shots and a couple of stunning lion sightings too

Carla, I’m so glad you’re safely back — and what an episode to return with! :gflower: That S147 elephant encounter had my pulse racing just reading it. I would’ve been right there with you in the “brace for impact” pose! Thank heavens for the peacekeeping ellie at the back. I say he deserves a medal (and maybe a cold one too).

Loved the honeymooners slipping off for privacy — typical Kruger romance. And your bird-in-flight shots turned out beautifully! That fish eagle is a stunner.

Despite the quieter sightings, it sounds like the bush delivered some serious drama and magic — lioness naps, croc strolls, and cloudlight artistry included. Can’t wait to join you on the road to Shingwedzi — and I fully support your detour away from the S147. :naughty:

Thanks for the always-entertaining share!

I too was glad it all ended well. I could have kissed the other ellie. But thought better not as things might have turned really ugly if I tried

We keep practicing our 'birds in flight' photography but still have a long way to go on that

We encountered quite a few cute babies that day. Plus a few big ellies too . All close up and some a little too personal

Must admit, we had never seen Kruger as dry as we did this trip. Lake Panic was a complete shock when we got there :(
