Warm welcome to the forum SoulFoodFFM
Fingers crossed you will get on one of the Bush braai's, they are certainly a wonderful experience.
Hopefully there will be some others booked by the time you check in.
Do come back and let us know how it went.

Re: Extra people needed for Bush Braai's.
Does anyone know if these braais need to be reserved in advance of arrival to the camps and also if it’s possible to pay for 4 people to meet the max, if we only have 2 people?

Welcome to the forum roboticleopard!
You can reserve them before the visit or once you are there but of course may find they are fully booked
You can indeed pay the for the extra pax to make up the numbers.

Re: Extra people needed for Bush Braai's.
Friday November 10th 2023.
We have booked for a bush braai at Berg en Dal. My wife & I.
The camp says that they need 4 more people to book. Minimum of 6 people required to host a bush braai.
The cost per person is R885-77.
Hedging our bets, I have also emailed Skukuza to book for a bush braai on Saturday 11th November.
I have not yet received a reply from the camp. Hopefully someone will get back to me soon.

Hi Billygoat,
Can't help you with BNB, but we will be in Skukuza on November 11 and would be interested in the bush braai if you have to go for plan "B".

Hi Barb,
I am so keen on experiencing the bush braai, that I would be perfectly happy doing it both at Berg en Dal, and Skukuza.
Unfortunately there appears to be a deafening silence from the hospitality department. This might just be that my original query was to far ahead for planning purposes.
I am going to re-email Skukuza at the beginning of next week, and I might just phone the reception and speak to them.
Once I have had an answer or feedback, I will send you a message.
Thank you for your message.

Hi Billy Goat,
We are also keen, we already have inquiries out at Satara and Shingwedzi, so hopefully something will come up.

Re: Extra people needed for Bush Braai's.
Morning Barb15584,
I have sent you a private message.
I have received a reply from Suzan Mkhabela - front office manager at Skukuza, who tells me that 4 people are needed for a bush braai, and that I can book directly with the camp.
No costs, no contact details, not very inspiring to say the least, but after sending 3 emails to 3 different people, over a 3 week period, receiving a reply is a positive improvement.
To date I have emailed the Hospitality manager, the front office manager, and the duty manager.
I will phone the camp during this week, and see what I can achieve.

Re: Extra people needed for Bush Braai's.
Hello,
My husband and I are traveling to Kruger National Park for the first time in August-September 2024. We would like to participate in a Bush Braai during our stay.
I sent emails to each camp requesting information and to ask if anyone has already booked a Bush Braai over our dates. So far, I have only received one response, asking me to inquire again 1 month before our stay.
I expect it will be easier to make a booking if we have the required amount of participants, so I'm posting our dates and looking for interested travelers:
Lower Sabie - August 25, 25, 27
Satara - August 28, 29, 30
Letaba - August 31, September 1, 2
Does anyone visiting at the same time want to book a Bush Braai?
Thank you!

Re: Extra people needed for Bush Braai's.
Hello,
If you do not receive answers or get any takers before you go don't give up, we visited Lower Sabie multiple time during our last trip (October thru December last year) and they were actively advertising Bush Braais. I have seen sandwich boards looking for participants in the past at Satara but not last trip.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info, Barb!
Re: Extra people needed for Bush Braai's.
Bush braai at 28 October in Berg en Dal: 3 out of 6 minimum reserved. We will pay for any remaining spots to get it through, but would be great if some people join!
