Hello,

My husband and I will be visiting Kruger National Park for the first time Aug-Sep 2024. We are very interested in participating in at least 1 Bush Braai while we are there. I understand most camps require 6-8 people to confirm a braai.
If I want to try to find other interested people visiting at the same time/same camps, should I start a new question in this thread providing my dates and camps? Or, has another Bush Braai thread been started (I read a reference to combining 2 threads to bring Braai information together when I was searching the forums, but haven't found the consolidated thread)?
I understand that a Braai needs to be booked with the individual camp, but it seems people have more success when they already have enough participants to make the reservation, rather than asking the camp to put them on a waiting list for a particular date.
Is it too early to start trying to find interested parties on the forum?

Thanks for advice.

Very warm welcome to the forum LMN_AZ

We do have a topic where you can add your dates and camps
Extra people needed for Bush Braai's.

I am not sure how successful it will be but sure they have been some match ups over the years.

To my mind tho the best method will be to contact the camps directly and ask to have your names added to the list and then as folks either make contact via mail/call or when they check in be added to the list.

The bigger and more popular camps like Lower Sabie, Skukuza, Satara will obviously have a higher chance of getting the numbers.

Good luck and enjoy your time and visit to the park.

Thank you so much, Elsa!

Could you provide the best emails to try for contacting Lower Sabie, Satara and Letaba? It seems like the successful email to use for each rest camp changes frequently!

I will put our names in at each rest camp, and make a post on the other thread.

Thank you Elsa,
According to the Sanparks office in Nelspruit Pretoriuskop no longer offers Bush Braais.
I tried emailing Silindile but the email came back with a 'email address no longer valid' message.
Thanks for the other email address, I'll give Vusi a try.

Thank you, I have tried those emails as well. As for ages, they will be old enough.

An update on my earlier post:
Faith from Pretoriuskop contacted me to confirm that they do in fact offer a bush braai and I was able to book it.
Thank you Elsa for responding to my enquiry!

Good evening,

We are a group of 6 hoping to book a bush braai at Skukuza next month. We are staying at Skukuza the first night we arrive from the UK before moving to Letaba, and then return to Skukuza again a week later as we come south. Are we able to book at the reception once we arrive or do I have to book by email before we leave for SA?

Thank you for any advice.

Good evening Andrew,
We booked on the night that we arrived. You have the required minimum number of guests so you should have no difficulty.
The people that we went with had attempted to book by email and they never received a response.
Hope that you enjoy it.

:D
Hi
I emailed Skukuza and it was added to our reservation. But they did not email to say they had done it , found it was added on.

When we checked in it was confirmed and 10 others were also booked in . !!!

Next time I would book a bush braai at a smaller camp

Enjoy
:D
Next journey :hmz: but always dreaming :D

Hi

I don't know if the bushbraais are arranged via Sanparks or the restaurant.

This is the restaurant at Punda Maria - maybe contact them, I am sure they will either know who to contact or will be able to help you:

I was finally successful in booking a Bush Braai at Lower Sabie.

I reached someone at Punda Maria but they do not do Bush Braais.

I need the contact emails for Olifants to try to arrange one there.

Thank you
