GRNP: Severe Weather Warning

South African Weather Services has issued a severe weather warning for disruptive rain valid Saturday, 30 Dec 13h00 to Sunday, 31 Dec 00h00.

SANParks Wilderness has contingency plans in place that are activated in response to severe weather warnings to ensure that visitors to Wilderness are safe.

The following recreational facilities and activities will close on Saturday afternoon, 30 December 2023 and no entry will be permitted after 13h00 and remain closed on Sunday, 31 December 2023.

All picnic facilities and trails at Goudveld:

Woodville Big Tree
Ebb and Flow canoe hire
Half Collared Kingfisher Trail
Brown hooded Kingfisher trail
Groeneweide Trails

We will continuously monitor the weather over the weekend. Based on assessments of actual rainfall, condition and safety of the trails and recreational facilities a decision will be made when we can re-open and communicate this decision.
