Dear forumites,
I'm trying to find out if late arrivals are allowed in Mapungubwe. (This will be our second trip there so I'm familiar with the distances.)
I know that in KNP one can arrange for an escort to a camp close to a gate but found no information on such service in Mapungubwe.
Our estimated arrival to the Main Gate will be between 7 and 8 p.m. and we are going to stay at Leokwe.
Thanks in advance.

I just found this, Romanera :
You could perhaps email the Park and ask about late arrivals.Late travelling to the camps is only allowed for guest participating in the afternoon activities and those who had dinner at the restaurant (please ensure proof of payment can be produced upon request by the park official enroute to the camp).

Thanks for your reply, Matthys. I already e-mailed the park but received no reply. Giving another try, though.
Re: Mapungubwe late arrivals
It's been worth trying
I got a friendly reply from Tintswalo Mhlongo, Hospitality Services Manager,
"We do allow late arrival and you can drive to Leokwe on your own with no escort but you will need to give us your vehicle registration number as soon as you collect it so that we can prepare a late permit for you."
This is very relieving.
