Golden Gate in winter

Unread post by Redtail »

Hi everyone!

We are going to South Africa in wintertime for the first time this year, and are not really sure what to expect.
We were planning to go to Golden Gate and Clarens at the end of August.
How is the weather there that time of year? Is it possible to do all the activities like the walks, the dino things, etc...? Is it very very cold? 🙈

Thanks in advance for every tip and advice!
Warm regards,
Kim

Hi Kim, for Clarens towards the end of August, the historical average high is 20 deg C and the historical average low is 2 deg C.
Such a beautiful world!

Hello Kim. It is certainly possible to do activities such as hikes. In actual fact, it is probably more comfortable than in the hotter summer months.

If you layer up, there should be no problem.

Our winters tend to be brief and August is starting to warm up. Enjoy.
