Hi all

Your inputs would be appreciated.

I have info re the "penguin calendar" for Boulders penguins i.e. the typical months for moulting, breeding, at sea, etc. My question however relates to the best time of day to view the penguins. I have read that the best time of day to see lots of penguins on the beaches is early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Does anyone know if this is in fact true?

Hi thetravelinfoblogger,

Please see this post by Larks

Yes, I agree. Anytime is penguin time at Boulders!
But you're right, I think the afternoon may be better, because the penguins come out of the water and leave themselves sufficient time to dry before the night arrives. Watch out not to go there too late though, because the gates do close.

Enjoy your time with the penguins! Please share your photos with us.

Thank you lion queen :great:

I suppose I was hoping for any further insights in support of the post by the Larks.

We visited in Dec and in the late afternoon. There were lots of moulting penguins but also many penguins returning or returned from their swimming and feeding.
