Walking Safaris of South Africa

Unread post by jjames04 »

Hi Folks!

For anyone looking for in depth information on Kruger’s Wilderness and Backpacking Trails there is a new book out that is a really great guide called “Walking Safaris of South Africa”

Link: http://walkingsafarisofsouthafrica.com/

It’s a great read and the co-authors: Hlengiwe Magagula and Denis Costello really cover all the ins and outs of taking your Kruger experience up a notch by getting out of the car and meeting nature on it’s own terms.

This looks great. Thanks James. I am very interested in doing a walking trip in the Kruger.

Just checked and it doesn't seem to be in the UK just yet. But will keep an eye out for it.

Hi Tamsy - Thanks and yes; it's not available in hard copy yet outside South Africa but it is via E-book through Google Books and a few others if you'd rather read it on a tablet.

Cheers,

Joe

Joe, thank you. :D

I will most definitely get a copy. There is always time to dream.

Hi everyone

I'm co-author of this book - thanks for posting the info Joe! (By the way, it covers 21 reserves, not just KNP).

Just to let you know the book has finally made it to the UK... must have been stuck in the Suez for a while :hmz:
Some UK bookshops (like Blackwells) will also ship at good rates around Europe and beyond.
It should be in US shops very soon.
And of course it is widely available around South Africa.
We are maintaining a list of online shops.

Happy to answer any questions, and wish you all the chance to get out on foot in parks soon
