Hello I am a Kitesurf instructor in the UK and qualified by the British Kites Sport Association (BKSA).
I have recently contacted a kitesurf school in Langebaan about potentially working as an instructor for the summer season and they have told me this is no longer permitted by Sanparks the licensing authority for the beaches in Cape Town & the Western Cape.
Could anybody please let me know if this is the case and perhaps point me in the right direction so I can understand why this is the case.
Please note I am also a RSA permanent resident by birth with no work limitations so I am not sure this applies to me but I want to be sure.
Thank you for your time.

Welcome to the forums, paullegrange.
I found this West Coast National Park
KITEBOARDING GUIDELINES.
Not sure if this will be of help to you.

Re: International kitesurf instructor - Not permitted
Thanks Matthys,
Although this does not specifically mention the limitation I raised it is very useful information.
It does talk about instructors needing a permit to teach and I guess this is where the detail of this may be found. I have spoken to a few people now about this and it seems to be to protect jobs for RSA nationals. As I was born in Cape Town, have a ID number and am permanent resident I should be good to go.
Another positive is my BKSA Instructor qualification is specifically mentioned as recognised by SANparks.
