Annie R. I doubt that there would be any visible graffiti, either viewing from the car or illegally by foot.
I have taken photos from the tree in April, taken from the car, from all the angles visible from the road.
Seems that most of the bark has been stripped down by Ellies.
I’m glad we weren’t tempted to get out, illegally, as a mature male leopard was rather curious as to why I was taking pictures of the tree and not him .

Thanks, Elsa, I had a look at the Baobab topic and there's nothing specific. RemiE, you're probably right - elephants have taken exception to the graffiti and removed it over the last 120 years!

Hi BellaLeo6,

I doubt that baobabs would be in flower at the moment. According to my book the leaves only start coming out in October/November, and the flowers only start after the leaves are there. It would probably depend on whether there has been rain and other climate things.

I do remember being in northern Kruger in February one year and there were flowers on baobabs at that time, although they probably were late flowers.

I agree, Chirinda. We were in northern Kruger in October and noticed that the baobabs had lovely new leaves - they looked stunning. No flowers, though.

I stayed at Balule at the end of October 2018 and the baobab there had flowers on which was a surprise and delight. No leaves at that time though.

North of Babalala, the baobabs started flowering in the middle of last month.
