Quick Pay - split payments
Quick Pay - split payments
For my reservation in September, I have a balance of R5,776 outstanding.
Instead of paying this all in one go, I would prefer to settle R1,000 per month over the next few months.
And would be fully paid up by the due date in July.
I went online to the Quick Pay system, put in R1,000 in the amount box and kept getting told this amount was too low.
I called SANP central reservations, and the person answering the phone told me that there wasn't the option for me to make part payment on the outstanding balance. I could either pay the full amount now on the Quick Pay system. Or I could pay the smaller amounts by EFT, which for an international payment would make it too expensive.
This is frustrating.

This has always worked well for me. There is a Word form available for making credit card payments, which you can request reservations to email to you.

Thanks DB. I wasn't aware of this since my last booking was made for April 2016. I fear that under the guise of "security" SANParks is really just insuring that we pay the full cost of the booking sooner rather than later. This particularly affects overseas visitors, since we are unable to present our CCs 'in person'. And it certainly sounds like this new Quick Pay system doesn't allow for partial payments
I paid my 50% deposit within the first month. Same as usual, just using quick pay
And you still have until the 2 months before arrival to pay the full amount. So that hasn't changed.
Thanks for clarifying. Yoda

I know that you would rather split it and am sorry that you are not able to do this, but you might even earn a little interest on what you saved.
I could. Look, when it comes to paying the balance, I will just pay it.
But wanted the convenience of building it into my monthly budget.
Btw, our interest rate is so low here, you don't get anything for such small amounts with my bank

Thanks for clarifying. YodaSorry that it doesn't also allow the payments that you wish to make. Perhaps SANParks should look into modifying the system to allow partial payments such as you suggest?

Perhaps this is something SANP should look in to?
I can't be the first person who has wanted to do this???

Correct - this are the core payment rules.

Did you get an error on this?
As long as the full payment is done by 2 months before arrival date, you can pay as little as R1 per day if you choose.

Best wishes,
I have sent an email to the address given in at the top of this Service Related Forum and am waiting for a response from them.
I received a response from Customer Services confirming that one cannot do a part payment on Quick Pay.
I will just have to pay the full amount by the due date.

I believe our Web Systems Analyst contacted you yesterday to ask further details?
He might need to investigate this specifically as it might help us identify glitches - if there are any.
Nedret,
No the systems analyst did not contact me.
The person in the pm I sent you, asked for my customer and reservation number.
However I am a bit confused.
You are saying to me that one should be able to do part payments on the system. Yet both Reservation and Customer Services say one cannot.
So the way I understand it, it the system cannot process the part payment. It is not a glitch?
Or am I missing something??

Re: Quick Pay - split payments
Good day Yoda.
I have been following the posts here and also send an email directly in relation to this matter.
There are certain rules relating to the Quick Payment system, which will have an effect on the amount allowed payment.
One of the main restrictions are the following:
1) If the payment is due on same day (or next) then payment needs to be in full.
2) The minimum can't be less than the first deposit due, where the first deposit still outstanding and a second deposit (and third etc) applies.
3) If deposit due is still in future, the client should be free to pay any amount (from the minimum (not zero, or the first deposit amount) to the max (the total to be paid))
In effect between the min and max ranges (where allowed by the date of payment and date of expected deposit payment) , any amount is payable as long as the full deposit amount is paid before the cut of date. Once the cut of date is reached (or after even), then full settlement will be expected.
Now to investigate the possible rules in effect, in this payment query, I need to following (As was requested by email)
1) Client ID
2) The Reservation Reference number
(so all the details that were entered on Quick Pay)
Please PM or email to [email protected] (please do not submit these details in public post)

Re: Quick Pay - split payments
It seems that there was some sort of glitch.
Anton has sorted it and I can now make part payments.
So for all those interested, this is an option.
@antonhfsp, thanks so much for your help with this
