KTP Leopard: Seleka

Unread post by lion queen »

Seleka is one of the 4 tribes that made up the Barolong tribe, they were the first sons of Tau.

These two just south of Urikarus on 27 September at 18H10

As you can see no co-operation!!! They kept hiding away and we did not have that much time to spend with them!!!

For ID purposes Barolong's cubs:

First picture: Seleka on the left and Tshidi on the right.
Second picture: Seleka sitting up and Tshidi lying down.

Thanks for the comments, was a wonderful sighting.
We also saw Barolong, but with out her cubs at Urikaruus on the 8th Dec, she came to drink twice.

So it's time to announce the names of Barolong's two new cubs. After discussing it with Lion Queen, Enrico and Jacliz we have decided to call them Tshidi (larger leo and the one i posted pics of on behalf of Enrico) and Seleka (smaller one).
They are named after two of Tau's (a great Barolong chief) sons. At the moment we are not sure of the leopards sex but i'm assured that they can be used for either male or females.
Lets hope they become regulars to both Urikaruus, this thread and the project.

Thanx :D

@ anne-marie

This here was our first sighting of one of Barolong's cubs.
That time we couldn't find the second one or even Barolong, no matter how hard we looked for them...

Again about 3km south of Urikaruus on the 15th of November 2012 at 12.45am

Lovely photos Matt
You have the ids of Tshidi and Seleka correct but i think you might have mixed up a few photos. The first and last are Seleka and the middle two are Tshidi.
