We saw this lady near Leeudril on 3 May 2012.

@GavinW - Thank you for posting! This is a new leopard for this thread, the same one posted on the 'Camera Trap' thread by KG( pic taken by Hannes Lochner - of the leopard behind the 'termite mound' camera trap.)
See the rest of this post below!

Now posting with Muhammad's permission: He saw the same leopard on the 4th of May near Leeudril.

With both Muhammad's and GavinW's pix I think we have a new page or 2 for the ID guide!

@ GavinW: Hi there Gavin, We saw this fellow not far from Leeudril on the 28th April this year at about 10am. When I looked at the pictures you have taken at Leeudril just a few days later, (look at the ring of spots around the neck), it would appear that it could be the same leopard, only difference is that mine is distinctly male! If yours is a female, there must be a (possible) mating pair and therefore two leo's in the same area at the time!

Kagiso

Unread post by GavinW »

Here are some pics of two leopards we saw near Leeudril on the evenong of 21 May 2012. I believe the one leopard is Kagiso, which we first spotted at the start of our holiday,(and had the hoNour of naming) and that the other is a new female, yet to be named :P

I can't tell the difference, so here are a whole lot of pics, and hopefully we can get a positive id.

@wonderw: Isidima left in front and Kagiso behind right.

Kagiso

Thanx for posting Gavin!

Your pix with 2 leos - Kagiso is the leopard furthest from the camera. Your pix of the single leopard - I believe that this is a new female. She looks an older leopard and, going by the pix I would hazard a guess that she could be Kagiso's mom(can't see any flirting going on here, and Kagiso obviously knows her). (New female is Isidima)

Another African name coming up Gavin?
