During our most recent stay at Kruger we were happy enough to be allowed to observe two of the park's veterinarians darting and vaccinating two wild dogs. I would very much like to know who these friendly scientists were and thus have uploaded a few pictures
I am pretty sure the younger man is Dr Louis van Schalkwyk but maybe somebody can confirm? And give us an idea who the older man might be?
The older one may be Chief Veterinary Technologist employed in the KNP by the Dept Agriculture, Forests and Fisheries, Mr. At Dekker. Dr Louis van Schalkwyk is also from the Dept Agriculture Forests and Fisheries, also in the KNP as Chief State Veterinarian. Previous State Veterinarians were the likes of Drs Eddie Young and Roy Bengis.

thanks..please excuse my ignorance but is "At" a "complete" south african forename or just an abbreviation for a longer name? And how do you pronounce it? Like "at the train station"? Or rather like in "but"?
Men named Adriaan normally end up being called At, Adri or Attie. At is pronounced similar to Ah but shorter and without the h.
