Storms River Mouth Honeymoon Cottage 8A

Hello everyone,

I'm a long time lurker on this site and have gained an incredible amount of useful information from the members, for which I am truly grateful. Thank you all so much for taking the time and effort to share your knowledge.

I've always been reluctant to post as you all seem so much better informed than myself. I've realised that I can give something back by posting images of the accommodation we've stayed in at the various camps. So here goes with my first attempt.

These are pictures of the honeymoon cottage 8A at Storms River taken in August 2010.

Best Wishes,

Andy

Camping Decks at Diepwalle (Knysna Forest)

Here are our pics from the camping decks at Diepwalle. The location is amazing, but we weren't impressed with how the area is looked after. I'm hoping the service has improved since we were there in July 2011.

We were in a 3 man dome tent. It could probably handle slightly bigger, but not by much. We highly recommend taking cable ties to attache the guy ropes to the deck. And make sure that you have locking boxes for your food, and don't keep it in the tent. The baboons got into 1 of our boxes, and tore through another camper's tent to get to their food.

Here is the full view from the stairs:

Here is the view looking back up the stairs from the deck. The ablutions are at the very top, next to where you park your car:

Image

Here you can see the space you have. The space behind the bar has shelves, so you can wedge cooler boxes and other boxes quite well:

Here are a series of photos of how we attached are tent to the deck:

We took our own tent, this was our first trip in the "little" tent, and we were very pleasantly surprised. We now use this one for most short trips, and only use our "big" tent for long trips to Kruger.

At the time we travelled you can also ask for the SANParks to set up their tents and bedding for you. These are the heavy canvas 4 man tents. There was one set up for other campers who left on our first morning.

During our stay the Jacuzzi was not there anymore.

Both bedrooms and the lounge opens onto the wooden deck.

The braai

As you can see no need to bring anything with that you might need to make a braai!
