Remarkable sightings at Augrabies

Unread postby Lesego » Tue Jun 25, 2013 4:14 pm

Augrabies Falls National Parks (AFNP) has revealed a bit more about its illusive self this month with three remarkable sightings. A Leopard, Aardwolf and an Aardvark were all spotted in the park.

The Leopard was spotted near Oranjekom on 25 May 2013, during a night drive. The Aardwolf was spotted on 19 June 2013 near Black Ridge and the Aardvark was spotted last night (24 June 2013) near Moonrock.

These sightings are unique in that they are rarely spotted in the park. Make sure to visit Augrabies to try and spot one of these enigmatic animals.

All the above pics were taken by AG with the camera donated to Augrabies by a bunch of forumites.

Well done to all who participate(d) in the team effort.

Just a small clarification....the aardvark picture was taken with a different camera

But a big thank you to all who did provide the camera for AG....he's really using it well and producing some great images.

@ Josh, it is a Sony Cybershot DSC-170, 25 MM Lens

Just a correction as well with regard to the pictures taken, unfortunately it is not indicated on the pics.
The aardwolf and leopard pic was took by me.

The aardvark pic was took by Matthew Schurch(Astromatt), who also "spot" the aardvark in the area of Moonrock. Matthew was twice on the drives and it was with the second drive that he saw it.
Just so as well you never no if you don't go out there.
