Battle At Kruger - Lions VS Rhino Over a Buffalo

Unread post by ossendryver » Sun Sep 16, 2012 5:33 pm

Hi all,

This happened on the yesterday on the 15th of September in the Kruger National Park in South Africa

Lions were busy eating their kill when a rhino came out of nowhere.
The lions then started chasing this rhino to get it away from their kill.
Unbelievable photos by Dirk

Hey all,

Yes after 11 lions attacking it for 100m they decided to leave him alone.
He got away unhurt and with it's horns still intact, and the lions went back to feed.

Everybody wins.

This young fellow had a grand ol' time for the full 4 days we spent at Berg en Dal last week. We saw him and his mate daily in the same area (within 7km of camp) and pretty much every time we saw them they were mating or resting after a mating. The poor female looked so worn out and hungry after the first few days and this guy was a machine I tell you. They were beautiful and their cubs will be stunning, hope I see them on my next visit.

I know this is not the usual Lion shot but my son is so amused I got it he insisted I share it cause "he's never seen lion poop before, so he is sure others are also interested" so here goes.
