You can use photoshop, light room or other speciale programs to do that.

I use photoshop to create a border and copyright symbol in the photo.
It's a photoshop action and works automatically.
If you don't want a border, but only a copyright, than it's can be easily done with lightroom. It has his own watermark option. If you export your photo, than you just enable it and he export the photos with your watermark.
If you find photoshop to difficult or don't have photoshop or lightroom, than there also a lot of watermark programs available.

I also use picasa to add a copyright to my photos. I do this when I 'export' them (resizing and saving into a separate folder) before uploading them on internet.

To get the copyright symbol - on a PC it is : [ALT] + 0169 .... on a notebook, you can only type the numbers on the keypad, so use the function key to type the numbers on the keypad.
