I'm a bit confused about this one but my guess is a Red-capped Lark :hmz: Could anyone please confirm or correct me?
I saw the bird in Kruger on the S90 in Kruger (between Balule and Bangu) last May!

Definitely a Cisticola, and I'd guess Rattling.

Thank you pantera leo  After checking my bird books again I'm sure you are right, didn't even think about a Cisticola

After a quick glance I would say Rattling Cisticola but I don't have any books with me at the moment.

It is a Rattling Cisticola. If you see a Cisticola in the Kruger, 99% of the time it's a Rattler.

Hi Pumbaa.
Where were these pictures taken? The top one could possibly be a rattling cisticola :hmz: .
Hopefully someone else will have more clarity.

good luck

Cisticolas continue to baffle me :wall: The first one I saw near Olifants in KNP on 25 April 2012. I'd thought that it was Levaillant's, only now, reading in another thread, it seems that Levaillant's doesn't occur in KNP? So it might be rattling or wailing or rufouswinged? :hmz:

This second one I saw at Nylsvley (Limpopo) on 27 April 2012. Is it a Levaillant's?

To me they both look like Rattling.
