Can hardly believe N'watamhiri is dry, in Feb it was full to the brink, I guess the good rains had to do with it but amazing that that much water can evaporate in such a short time really!

In a way it is a pity that we are not allowed out of the car.
We could do great timelapse photography, all we need is a set point, like a stone or such, and a focal length. Add the photo to a topic here, and see it change over the seasons and years...
Not posting much here anymore, but the photo's you can follow here There is plenty there.

Will maps be updated, removing the man made waterholes that have been drained?

Travelled this road for the first time in April 2012, definitely my fav road (for now) in the south, not cause we saw leopard and lion but just the peace and tranquility we experienced, not often you get this on a southern road...

Have had sleeping lioness in road all by myself; 2 male lions just after tar turnoff, no other car for a while; 2 male lions walking in the road and defecating, lying down; lionesses on rocks; hyena, rhino, ground hornbill, elephant at the waterhole etc. In July this year the pan was still full of water, but we saw very few animals there about 7:30 am.
Will definitely try it again in December -- I hate crowds!
God bless,
