Hi Pumbaa & PJL, :)
My eyes nearly popped out when I saw three caracal popping out from under the bush.
On two occasions before I have seen two caracal together, this was the first time of three......

Early one morning I had been watching this Black Harrier flying low above the grass making a few unsuccessful attempts at catching some breakfast for itself before perching for this long distance shot.

If I tell Shi about your 3 Caracal sighting, she is going to hate you forever  Shi is in Kruger right now, where I would like to be.. so I think that I am going to tell her, just for revenge.

Wondeful Harrier as well. 8)

thank you.
The bird doesn't sing because it has answers, it sings because it has a song.

Hi anne-marie,
You are correct the bird was perched on a prickly pear cactus.
I am sure it made sure that it did not hurt itself on those very sharp spines.
They are very beautiful birds :)

One afternoon I watched this small family group of ellies relaxing at a waterhole.
Note the ellie on the right crossing her legs as she is relaxing.
Do we not love crossing our legs while relaxing.... :hmz:

Image

Because it was a cool afternoon they had only partly covered themselves with new mud giving them this blotchy appearance

I then watched them as they leisurely came strolling past where I was parked
