During our visit in September on Shingwedzi-Pafuri road, just a few kilometers north of the Vlakplaas ranger turnoff, came onto a small herd of about 7 Tsessebe , one of which had a very small lamb , probably borne a couple hours previously .
Here some pics :

Still quite uncertain on his pins , with his umbilical cord still clearly visible :

We came across quite a Few on the Phalaborwa to Shingwedzi Road.
But they do seem few and far between!
I had been there for about 20 years with my parents and only for the first time saw them 2 weeks ago!

I would love people's opinion. This sparked off a debate a few years back. Is this a Lichtensteins, or Tsessebe?

It was taken on the Voortrekker road, close to Pretorius Kop.

My camera was brand new and my hands were shaking so much that I really did not get a good look.

We usually see a number of these antelopes during our visits to the north of the park .
This was one of our favourite sightings - a very new-born baby.
Seen last year September north of Babalala

I don't have any good pictures but I am trying to get an ID on this Antelope please, I can zoom in and post if they come out too small first time. I saw this is in the south of the park around the Skukuza area at the back end of September 2013. They don't look like one of the usual types we see and as it was my first visit to the park and not a great sighting I didn't take that much notice.

I have just got back after 3 weeks in the Kruger in December and in spite of the drought most of the animals appeared to be coping. However on returning home and looking at my photographs I could see that some of the Tssessebe appeared to have a skin problem. Not all the animals were afflicted.

In spite of the drought there was quite a lot of water in river bed pools, and some dams, for animals to drink, but due to lack of rain the grass was struggling to grow. Is this skin problem due to the poor quality of the grass due to lack of rain or are the animals being pestered by a parasite?

Is it doing the animals permanent harm, or is it just a natural problem for Tssessebe?
