Ah those buses I remember them well They were the ulimate in luxury in those days .. !!!! I was about 15 and my father who worked for the railways came to fetch me . They needed some people to fill a bus as they were taking photos for advertising etc. They had professional peeps in the main seats . Well when the photos came out It was me they used .. and for years it was a huge blown up photo in the JHB main station and also for several years in the readers digest ..My moment of fame and I was not paid a penny .. hmmph The photo said something about game drives .. and the outside scenery of the "game Park "as very convincing Emmerentia dam really looked like a waterhole in the park .
STF do keep up those photos.

The postcard of Satara gate was much more modern than the other photos if you look at the bus ..

Thanks to all for your kind comments. I am so pleased you are enjoying the postcards. Here are my last two.

This one was published by S.A.R. Publicity and Travel Department, no photographers name is mentioned and is titled "Kruger National Park".

This one was distributed by Earldons (Pty) Ltd with a name J Ryan, who I assume is the photographer and is titled " View over the Sabie River, Transvaal, South Africa."

Super Joep. Especially like the one with the lions and the old car behind them. Note the roof rack for carrying luggage - no trailers or SUV's in those days. Please post some more.
