Took this at Sable Dam. Is it a Ruff? I'm not sure as it's legs are greenish and not orange or greyish.

Yup, it's a Ruff. Their plumage and bare part colour can be quite variable but the shape of the bill, scaled back and white area at the base of the bill usually gives it away.

Found this one at a non SANParks park on the cape south coast on Monday. It still has some of it's breeding feathers so must be a recent arrival.

Difficult to judge the size of the bird. Can you remember more or less the size?

hmmm from that picture it actually looks too big to be a Little Stint, which is smaller than Three-banded Plover. It could be a Ruff.

At first I also thaught it might be a Little Stint,but it is too big to be ,the size fits a Ruff
