Unread post by Scottm » Wed Jan 06, 2016 2:43 am

Finally, Nikon have announced both the top-of-the-range FX and DX cameras, in the form of the D5 and the D500.

Have a look at https://photographylife.com/nikon-d5-announcement and https://photographylife.com/nikon-d500-announcement

They both look like yummy cameras! My old D90 needs to be traded in before I visit the KNP ;) Merry Early Xmas, George

Thanks for sharing, Scottm!

They both will be very good cameras made for the professional market.
For average 'Joe Public' both will be beyond their reach.
More importantly people need to understand that the camera body is only part of the issue.
Without top quality lenses the attributes of the body are wasted and the reverse is also true.
In my opinion for most people the DX camera bodies are absolutely perfect for their needs and I would commend the D7200 to them.
Invest in better lenses over a period of time which the D7200 will also be great for and see where their photography and aspirations are.
If they want to then look at FX camera bodies at least they will have some good lenses to use.
Just my opinion
Good luck
