Snake: Black Spitting Cobra

Unread post by PAPA SMURF » Tue Mar 22, 2011 8:42 pm

Hi there
This snake came under the caravan awning while we were sitting reading. This all happened in Augrabies last week.
The snake had a very black head and grey body. Length was about half a meter. As can be see in one of the photos it did a sleight "puff up" of its neck. My feeling is that it is juvenile Black spitting cobra. Your ID would be appreciated.
