Insect: Darkling Beetles

Unread postby Mads » Fri Jan 30, 2009 9:37 pm

Hi Insect'mites,

I was wondering if you could help me with the identification of the following 2 beetles. Both have been photographed in the Punda area. Beetle A was feeding on termites and also ate a fly.

Please help!

Hi Mads.........As you might know, narrowing down Insects to a species is not always the easiest, as field guides don't provide the millions of insects, in a pocket size manual unfortunately

I think though, that Beetle A, is from the Family......Tenebrionidae........Known as your Darkling Beetles. But as for species, I am not sure.

Hope this helps?! :D
