Abalone bust near Caledon
Graeme Raubenheimer | 58 min

Western Cape police have seized abalone more than R600,000 following a high-speed chase on the N2 near Caledon.

A suspicious-looking BMW apparently collided with a police vehicle.

The police's Frederick van Wyk says the suspects then sped away before abandoning their car on the R43.

“No arrest has been made as yet. A total of 36 black bags were found in the boot and at the backseat of the vehicle,” he says.
