Hi Hippotragus

We will convince SO for you. It is really a wonderful time, relaxed, come and go as you wish, sit around and chat, or play a game of cricket type of day.

We are hoping to have matches on the Friday too if other parks bring teams, and obviously definitely on the Saturday. Sunday is free.

There is usually a bring and braai on the Friday evening and then a gala dinner on the Saturday evening - again, wonderful times of meet and greets with SANParks and fellow forum members.

It is SO exciting to see this list of folk coming along growing

(I have been away from my pc for about 5 hours, and came back to see when I submitted this post I got a 'post review' but had moved tabs and never noticed the post did not go up ... so , here comes the cows tail post.)

You should really convince him :) Every year the cricket gets better and better :) Every year you think it cannot get better than this and then it does.

You will not regret if you come

Thanks for your encouraging messages, MM, Baffers, CV and DB.

Hubby didn't need much convincing in the end. Been to Reservation House this morning and booked 6th P'kop, 7th and 8th Skuks and 9th L. Sabie. Looking forward to the weekend! Will keep myself updated on this Forum page.

Now the question remains :)

Does hubby want to play cricket?

edit: Even better.. do both of you want to play cricket? There is always a space open for those who want to swing da bat :)
At the end of it all you don't want to go into the grave peacefully and quietly in well preserved body... You want to go sort off skidding in sideways, full of bruises and scratches saying: "Man what a ride!!!"

I'll think about that, Baffers, but unlikely either of us will play. Will give vociferous support and can pour drinks etc.!!

Based on past experience and heat in Skukuza drink pourers are some of the most like people around hehe :)
MUCH MUCH needed...

Ask you hubby if he will consider a venture on the Mankini making an appearance :) It's all for a good cause ;)

Baffers - getting him there is one thing but a mankini is just a bridge too far!! We will stick to pouring drinks and shouting.

OK Baffers - didn't read the info on mankini properly! I had visions of over-weight, middle-aged guys cavorting in said gear! Great relief!
