Lost/forgotten HR prize...

Unread post by Friedrich von Hörsten » Sat Aug 19, 2017 12:45 pm

In 2014/2015 I visited Kruger park, and saw 100+ wild dogs in 14 days! And then I read the poster: cheetah and wild dog sensus competition -- sponsored by EWT and HR... fabulous prizes!
In May 2017 I finally heard from Grant Beverly:

CONGRATULATIONS! You have won a holiday in Kruger Park!

3.5 months later, I am still waiting for my prize... I contacted Grant again -- SORRY, prize was SPONSORED BY HONORARY RANGERS...

They don't answer's Grant's e-mails... still waiting for an answer...

Question: does anybody on this forum remember these prizes?

Would love to hear from you...

God bless,

Friedrich von Hörsten

May 2017 was not that long ago, so I would not give up hope yet...........Grant is always mega busy, maybe he did not see your email to him.

You said they dont answer Grant's emails...............who is they, and what emails? If I know that, I might be able to help, as I am also an HR, but my region was not actually involved in this.

There is one thing I can help you with here Friedrich , I know you live very far away from Kruger in the Cape, so once you get your prize , I would be quite willing to take it off your hands and visit Kruger on your behalf
I will send you loads of photographs of ' your Holiday'

Hope that helps

Isinkwe,

You are such a gentleman...! ... lol

Maybe this can help...

Dear Friedrich

Please accept my apology for the situation which I understand must be extremely frustrating. I have handed the issue over to the new manager of the carnivore conservation programme to follow up. The accommodation prize was arranged via SANParks Honorary rangers who have not responded regarding the claiming of the prize. Please do forgive us and I hope the issue can be resolved ASAP.

Regards

There were at least 2 Kruger Park prizes, and 1 big prize of a new Nikon D7100 + 18-140mm zoom lens in the competition...

Thanks and God bless,

Friedrich.

PS My problem -- prizes ONLY VALID OUTSIDE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS -- I am a teacher and ONLY have holidays DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS... lol.

Fortunately I have been offered special leave this year (once every 7 years), that falls end of November, and is OUTSIDE of school holidays. So November is my only hope of claiming this prize till I retire in 3 years' time... and time is running out to make any bookings.

I am pleased to say that this issue has been escalated, and we hope to have an answer for Friederich soon.

Friederich will of course be contacted personally with the outcome of this enquiry, but I will also post that here as well for clarity.

Hi Crested Val,

Seems like you are superwoman... lol. Lets hope there is a positive outcome for all...

In the meantime, I see there are still quite a few camps with accommodation in November, before school holidays start...

Holding thumbs!

God bless you,
