Sunset Dam delivers … again.

We have watched the Grey Herons ‘fishing’ at Sunset Dam on many occasions … mostly without success … both for us and the Herons.

On Wednesday 7th December however, our luck turned.

This Grey Heron speared what looks like a Nile Tilapia (oreochromis niloticus).

The fish was almost more than a mouthful and took the captor more than five minutes to consume his meal.

Brilliant sequence of pictures of the Grey Heron consuming its meal Jesscan1! I bet he needn't eat for the rest of the day after that meal!
