We have had more sightings of leopards in Kruger than of cheetahs. Most of our leopard sightings were between Skukuza and Malelane and a few other sightings throughout the Park of which 2 or 3 sightings were on the Kanniedood Dam route near Shingwedzi. Sometimes (few) between Tshokwane and Satara. We have not seen many cheetahs in Kruger about three times between Orpen and Satara and once between Mopani and Letaba. Perhaps we will be lucky this November in the Lower-Sabie/Crocodile Bridge area during our visit and see some cheetahs.

I have to say I've had more sightings of cheetah around Punda Maria than in the south of the park. And all the sightings I've had, bar one, have been male coalitions. As a result I've actually seen more cheetah than leopards.

Leopard sightings have been more balanced throughout the park, and I've seen them everywhere from Pafuri to Crocodile Bridge.

But I still think cheetah sightings are rarer than a leopard sighting.
Want to say Thank You or Well Done to a fellow 'mite? Why not nominate them for a Kudu?
