Hippo at Orpen

Unread post by E Orix » Tue Apr 26, 2016 7:37 am

I was looking at the Orpen Web Camera site today and there was a Hippo at the water hole.
My question is where would it normally spend it's daylight hours as the dam is quite shallow and small and
the river seems quite some distance away.

There was a problem with hippo occupying the waterhole a few months back and fouling it so the authorities emptied it and place some large rocks in the bottom to deter the hippo from "taking" it over which worked well.

I think this hippo might be one of those who recalls those days and was just checking!
