What a fun topic STF

As a meanderer I like Delene D's idea, but were I to be tied down to a place... this is where it would be.

Delene, this was taken a few days ago on the Luvuvhu river, close to Crooks corner. I decided that this would be a good place for my ashes. Whether I reach the pearly gates or not would not matter.. I would be spending a loooong time in paradise.

MM, looks like your house would be a houseboat.....

No need to build one...I would take that house on the northern sector of the Timbavati road. I think it is the Woodlands Rangers house?
Perhaps I could nationalise it

In a quiet spot outside Shingwedzi Camp overlooking the Shingwedzi river.

I always look at that house as we pass by and think its got a  view and position.

Another place I would love to have a house is on the S44 near Olifants camp overlooking the Letaba river. :D

Between Pafuri picnic spot and Crooks Corner there are these massive trees with the coolest shade and paradise-like emerald green grass underneath, more than enough space for my little house with a buck or two grazing around it; a few meters away the rush of the Luvuvhu river being the background music to the song of many birds. Taking a walk to the fever tree forest...
Oh, Gaddy! How I dream..!!!

Seems to me there arnt any golfnuts on the forum...i am one so id like a house next to the skukuza golf course, golf estate living at its very best!
Otherwise, probably an isolated area looking onto the crocodile or sabie river, far away from any tourists, not next to the river though...i saw what a flood does to houses next to a river, rather a bit farther away from the river with a huge deck to sit on and watch the river flow by.

I would join RobertT and Michel in the Section Ranger house just north of Mopanie. But I am guessing there are many more wonderful houses that has been built by the Rangers in the unexplored areas of Kruger.

My second best location would be Shibavantsengele.
High up on the mountain top with a great view, but geez.
That would be a logistical nightmare.

Been in Kruger from North to south from 25 May to 16 June and I must say that Meandering Mouse's house is the best site in Kruger and sorry MM, I am going to be your neighbour. I promise to be very quiet so we can both enjoy this spot. I think we will have to build on high stilts as that river may flood from time to time. (See the flood line at Pafuri picnic spot). I will be keeping my caravan though so I can travel from camp to camp when the wanderlust gets to me.

Here is a nice location for a house .

KNP is sacred. I am opposed to the modernisation of Kruger and from the depths of my soul long for the Kruger of yesteryear! 1000+km on foot in KNP incl 56 wild trails.200+ nights in the wildernessndloti-indigenous name for serval.
