Thanks for your replies Hugh and DinkyBird!
We will be in Kruger Park in October!
We will be on our way from Sabie driving the Panoramaroute.
So I think we have to be on the road early.
Do you think we can make it on time?
Is it doable?

You are staying close to the park, so can take a leisurely drive - if you leave Sabie at about 9am, and drive slowly, you will get to the gate by 1 - 2pm, depending on stops.

October gates close at 6pm.

Not long until you visit our lovely country

Thanks DinkyBird!
Sorry, but I think I didn't explain good what I ment.
I mean that we will spent the night in Sabie and then do the Panoramaroute (God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Blyde River Canyon) and spent the following 2 nights at Satara and then 2 nights at Crocodile Bridge.
Going North on the R532, R36, R527, Hoedspruit, R40 and so to Orpen Gate.
Google Maps says 240 km, 3h23. From Sabie to Orpen Gate.
I understand that we must be at Orpen Gate at the latest at 16.00 to get in time at Satara.
Do you think this is to do?
Will there be enough time to do some sightseeing?
Thanks for all advice!

Getting to the gate at 16.00 is only giving you 2 hours to Satara.
It is 47 kms which might not sound like much but stops along the way can eat into the time very quickly.
Keep a close eye on the time as you drive along.
You will also possibly have to keep the speed up slightly, say 35 kmph to compensate for any great sightings/stoppages you might encounter.
Where ever you go, go with all your Heart.

Thanks Elsa!
I know that we haven't got a lot of time to spent driving from Orpen to Satara.
That's not my big concern because we have 3 more days to spent in Kruger.
I'm just wondering if there will be enough time to do de Panoramaroute and be in time at Orpen and Satara.
We don't want to take te risk of being to late at Kruger.

Ah, I see now the route you want to do. It is a long time since we did that route, but I know that you need to give yourself time to enjoy it and stop off at the various view points etc.

So, say you end up taking 4 hours to drive, and a minimum of 3 hours to stop and enjoy the view spots etc.; I'd suggest you leave Sabie at 8am at the latest, and pace yourself and make sure you are at Orpen by 3.45pm. Doable, and could be a bit of rush - but have no doubt you will really enjoy it all!

Please let us know how it all worked out :D
