I stopped at Nkuhlu on Monday , had buff pies there with my 5 year old son.

The picnic site was neat and tidy , and I had great service.

Well done to Mike at Nkuhlu

We visited Nkuhlu a week ago. Excellent pies, good service, everything neat and tidy.

We placed our order when we were there on Friday, and on Monday became official members of the Buff Pasty Club. Photographic evidence to follow on my return home :D They were delicious and the salad was lovely and fresh

My family and I were there in early April 2010 and had our first Buff pasties and found them excellent and more than filling. Will surely do it again.

after reading the wonderful stories of the buff pasties, i'm considering adding a night in skukuza for my trip in april just to come taste one of them. ..... :D :D :D unless they are now available throughout the park. :hmz: :hmz:
You might get me out of the bush, but you won't get the bush out of me, it's deep in my heart

Tshokwane has them too?....agghh now you tell me! :wall: Travelled thousands of miles across the globe to Nkuhlu just to get a buff pasty and they'd sold out  ....so had to spend days and days on end just hanging around the park waiting for our flight back....it was truely awful! :P Never even thought to look at Tshokwane for them.
Oh well will just have to try again next year. :)

I am afraid the famous buffalo pie's that was always our favourite, is no more. We were in Kruger during the last weekend, and what a let down. Nkulu's shop appeared to be a Spaza shop, with the bare minimum on the shelves. 2 of the staff members were sitting on the counter, conversing happily, with no regards to the customers, that after all, pays their salary. They confirmed that the venue is administered by Sanparks now. What as shame that SanPaks decided to give up the contract of the previous Franchise. Tshokwane is no better. Every time (5x) we stopped at these sites, the excuse for no Buffalo Pie was that is was not ordered, the meat was still cooking, etc. Was it not clear that the pies was one on Kruger draw cards? PLEASE BRING BACK WACKTAZZ'S pies. O, and Tshokwane also could not provide gas bottles to make our own breakfast, as the kind lady explained that the the gass was supposed to be delivered 3 days ago, but they are still waiting. I am not one of the people that thrive on complaints, but the last weekend's experience was the limit to endure.

NO NO NO!! NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL. The pies were always out highlight. Not acceptable at all. What a pity that SanParks do not hang on to a gold mine when it stares them in the eyes? I will not visit these picnic sites again in future due to the apathic experience during the past weekend. This is not how I know Kruger to be.

The golfclub in skukuza stocks them as well. I know they have them daily and the same woman that made them at nkuhlu makes them there
